At Valar's town hall in Price on 29 September 2026, answering a question about its statement that holding its test reactor's spent fuel equals a CT scan, Valar's chief executive, who KOAL News reported answered the question, said on the recording: 'the name of the reactor at the time was Ward One, and we renamed it to Ward 250 when the executive order came out, because it's the 250 birthday of the United States', and went on that 'when we did that, we realized that we needed fuel faster.' Set beside the record: Valar's April 2025 post said Ward One would be built and tested in the Philippines (orig-017). On Valar's own account, Ward 250, its test reactor in Emery County (orig-006), is Ward One under a new name; the record does not show whether a Philippine reactor is still planned. The new name does not change the CT-scan check (pf-007), which already used Ward 250's figures: spent fuel's radioactivity depends on how much power a reactor made and for how long.

In plain termsAt its September 29 town hall in Price, Valar said the small reactor it first called Ward One was renamed Ward 250, its test reactor in Emery County, when the executive order came out, for the country's 250th birthday. In 2025 Valar had said Ward One would be built and tested in the Philippines.
